Cullen Brown is a licensed New York City guide who translates his passion for energy, engineering, and the environment into experiential learning tours that bring you into contact with the infrastructure that makes our lives in NYC possible. His tours focus on electricity, water, steam, transit, and the people who built and maintain those very systems.

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York (Go Bills), Cullen was inspired by the natural and industrial history of the Niagara region, as well as his historic preservation professional parents, to absorb and share knowledge about the interaction between our natural and built environment.

After graduating from University of Toronto with a degree in Environmental Studies, he worked with SolarCity/Tesla in the DC metro area selling residential solar. He is an alumnus of the Bard MBA in Sustainability, where his thesis focused on solar panel recycling. Cullen is also a Certified Energy Manager through AEE, has taken courses at the NYISO including the NYMOC, and holds a certificate from the Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies Program at the Stanford Engineering Center.

Cullen performs his New York City guide services in his individual, personal capacity. They are not related to or reflective of his employment with the New York Power Authority.

Outside of guiding tours and his day job, Cullen is passionate about soccer and helps run the club Manhattan Celtic, and recently got into juicing.
